Gutter Cleaning & Brightening in the Tri-Cities
Gutters have two jobs: carry water away from your house, and look good doing it. With all the hardwoods across the Tri-Cities, gutters here clog fast with leaves, seed pods and shingle grit, and the outside faces pick up black streaks that ordinary washing won't touch. We take care of both, inside and out.

Gutter cleaning: the inside
Clogged gutters overflow, and that water goes where you don't want it: down your siding, into your mulch beds, against your foundation and behind your fascia boards. A full clean-out includes:
- Removing leaves, sticks, seed pods and packed-in muck by hand
- Rinsing the troughs so the shingle grit and sludge are gone, not just the loose leaves
- Flushing every downspout and clearing clogs so water actually drains
- Checking for loose hangers, leaking seams and sagging sections, and letting you know what we find
- Bagging and hauling away the debris
Most Tri-Cities homes need a clean-out at least once a year, usually late fall after the leaves are down. Homes under big oaks, maples or pines often need it in spring too.
Gutter brightening: the outside
Look at the front of your gutters. If you see dark vertical streaks, often called tiger stripes, that's a mix of dirt, pollution and oxidation that bonds to the gutter's painted finish. A regular house wash usually won't remove it. Gutter brightening uses a specialized cleaner and hand work on each run of gutter to lift the streaks and bring back the original color.
- Removing black streaks and stains from the gutter faces
- Cleaning downspouts top to bottom
- Removing chalky oxidation from aluminum gutters where possible
- A full rinse of the surrounding siding and trim
Do both, with a house wash
The most efficient visit is a gutter clean-out, gutter brightening and a house soft wash together. The gutters drain the way they should, the faces look new, and the siding below gets rinsed of everything that came out of them.
Gutter Cleaning Questions
How often should gutters be cleaned?
At least once a year for most homes, usually late fall. Homes with lots of overhanging trees often need a spring cleaning as well.
What's the difference between gutter cleaning and gutter brightening?
Gutter cleaning clears leaves and debris from the inside so water drains. Gutter brightening removes the black streaks from the outside face so the gutters look new. We do both, separately or together.
Will brightening make my gutters look brand new?
On most gutters the difference is dramatic. On very old gutters with worn or chalky paint, we can greatly improve them, and we'll tell you up front if a section is too far gone.
